"A California Distinguished High School"

Three-time CA Distinguished School!

Hamilton High School was selected as a California Distinguished High School for the 2007 year, the third time our school has received this honor.

The Distinguished School award is the highest singular honor a school can receive in the California school recognition program.  Only 95 high schools, six percent of all high schools in California, were selected.

The selection process was detailed and rigorous.  Our school qualified initially based upon the high A.P.I. scores of students on the 2006 STAR Test.  Then, written applications were submitted and were judged by state evaluators on such themes as curriculum, instruction, assessment, student support, and school culture.  Hamilton High received a perfect score on the application.  Finally, a team of off-campus educators visited our school to validate our report.

On May 18, 2007, a contingent representing the Board, administrators, staff, parents, and students received the award at a ceremony in Anaheim along with a plaque and flag to display on campus.
